The Palmers // Sewickley, PA

This is a special one. I love all of the shoots I get to do, but when you get the opportunity to photograph folks you know and love so much, it is a fun and rewarding challenge. This is my family - my in-law family - that we get to share life with week to week. It is such a blessing for my family to get to be near these folks and we’re grateful our kids are getting to build memories and life together a bit. I’ve taken many-a-photo of them over the years, but we had never done a “formal” photoshoot. With the arrival of their 5th, it was time for a new family portrait and on a gorgeous spring day we spent some time at their lovely new home to get a few photos. Enjoy some photos of one of the most thoughtful, energizing, welcoming, hilarious, loving, and wise families I know…

Leslie & Mike // Pittsburgh, PA

On an absolutely glorious spring day here in Pittsburgh, Leslie and Mike had an intimate, touching and heartfelt wedding ceremony. It was an honor to get to meet both of them and be there to celebrate their love as it overlooked the City of Pittsburgh that day. You could feel the energy and excitement emanating off of them, and hopefully it comes across in the photos. Due to the pandemic, it had been quite a while since I had the chance to photograph a wedding, but this was the perfect one to jump back in with.

Congratulations to these two and all the best wishes for the years to come. Enjoy a few moments from the day!

Isabelle // Pittsburgh, PA

Isabelle and her family have been such incredible friends since we moved to Pittsburgh. She has also been a wonderful help with our girls, and it was so much fun to do a senior photo shoot to capture some of the last of our beautiful fall colors and the amazing skyline of Pittsburgh. Isabelle is a great banjo player and I encouraged her to bring it along for our trip into the city. We laughed that she’s now got some photos for her debut album.

The Bryans // Bellevue, PA

These are quite extraordinary times… but in the midst of these tough days, it is so wonderful to celebrate new life and love and the joy of family. The Bryans are some of our dear friends that we’ve made since making our home in Pittsburgh, and they recently welcomed their first child into their family. Both Ethan and Emily are incredibly thoughtful, warm, and gracious friends and getting to see their love of parenting and their little guy has been such a joy - even if it’s mostly been from afar. Enjoy a few photos from my recent time with them at their new home right on the other side of our neighborhood.

Brenna & Galen // Swallow Falls State Park, MD

Galen is simply one of the finest humans I have ever gotten to know. He is one of those close friends whose friendship is difficult to put into words because it has meant so much and has been such a source of encouragement over the years. Although it’s been years since we’ve gotten to live in the same city, many years actually, I feel our friendship has only grown and matured since our days living together in Boston. Because of life’s twists and turns, I haven’t gotten to spend much time with Brenna over the course of their relationship, but each time has been a great pleasure, and I’m so excited for the both of them. It was wonderful to have a couple hours to spend with them during such a crazy time, in now one of my new favorite places - Swallow Falls State Park.

God has given them both incredible talents (Galen is specializing in pediatric palliative care and Brenna is currently a nurse on a Covid unit) and they’re about to embark on a new adventure together out in Salt Lake City. I’m so excited to see where life will take them and the marriage they will get to shape together, and grateful to get to share some of the moments from our time together. Enjoy.

Love you both ❤️

The Paices // Bellevue, PA

It takes time in a new place to build friendships, especially in the stage of life our family is in right now. But we’re so grateful for the friendship of the Paices, and how they have so quickly come alongside us in life as friends. They are such a fun and thoughtful family, and we had some easy connections around our shared love of good food and good music. It was wonderful to hang out with them a bit and get to photograph their family. Enjoy a few highlights!
