Photography involves a sharing, an exchange, a give and take.

Hello, my name is Scotland and I'm the owner of Give and Take Pictures.

A little about me, I was born in a town nestled against farmland on the outskirts of the Philadelphia suburbs. I first discovered the camera as a young child, but didn't fall head-over-heels until my studies in philosophy left me feeling detached and unable to communicate with the world around me. While spending a year studying philosophy at Oxford University, I found photography able to deal with the ideas I found incomplete in the classroom.

Since that time, I've used my passion for storytelling and memory making to photograph weddings, document families and create photo projects. I've been able to photograph over 100 weddings since beginning in 2009, and I received my training from New England School of Photography. I'm always excited about the joy and challenge of visually documenting and telling stories well.

In addition to my work as a photographer, my full-time work is as a health communicator at an innovative Community Health Center in Dorchester, MA.

I'm a very proud husband & father, and I particularly enjoy biking, passion fruit, Phillies baseball, twitter, and making playlists on spotify. Madeleine L'Engle has taught me half the things I know about life. I firmly believe that the best soundtrack is a combination of Wilco, Jon Foreman, and Paul Simon.
